I'm not ready!

Why is it that when you're a kid, Christmas takes forever to arrive, yet when you're an adult, it's here before you know it? The past week has been pretty good. Jay was able to stay home last week, and it was good to have him around! Our Christmas program at church went really well for all 3 performances. I was glad that Jay was able to come to one of the shows to hear me sing! It was also nice to be able to leave the kids with him for the other shows. We are possibly going to have some decisions to make regarding Jay's job in the near future, so remember us in your prayers. We are ready to have him home every day again!

We finally got our tree mostly decorated and put out a few other things, like my Willow Tree nativity. Jay added the Wise Men to my collection this year, so it makes quite a scene on our mantel. The kids (especially Eliza) have enjoyed playing with the Little People nativity. We are trying to teach them that Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas! I have to remind myself, too, as I get busy trying to buy presents and get everything else done at this busy time of year!

Christmas is coming…

I can't believe Christmas is less than 3 weeks away! We haven't even put up the tree yet…hopefully this weekend! We went to the Christmas parade in downtown Little Rock last Saturday, then stayed for the lighting of the Capitol Building, which included fireworks and singing. The kids had fun trying to catch candy that was being thrown, and looking at all the bands and floats and horses. Jay took off for Dallas Monday morning to go to a training class, and the kids and I have been very busy this week. Our church's Christmas program is this weekend, so we have had practice every night this week so far. I am singing a very short solo in one song, and I am also in an ensemble that sings a couple of songs, not to mention the choir. I am glad to be a part, but I think I will be glad to get it over with. The kids don't mind all the extra practices…it just means more time at Mammy and Pappy's house!

I had to get new tires on my car today, and get the oil changed as well. My mom came over and stayed with the kids so they didn't have to sit at Walmart with me for almost 2 hours, and then we picked up my dad from work and he took us all out to lunch. It is so nice to have my family close by!
